Continuous phase Flip-OFDM in optical wireless communications

چکیده

Abstract Intensity Modulated (IM) optical communication over an LED channel requires the use of a non-negative signal that can also cope with low-pass nature LEDs. For this purpose, dedicated schemes such as Flip-OFDM and Assymetrically Clipped Optical (ACO)-OFDM have been proposed. We derive common mathematical description on which both rely. Exploiting insight, we propose Continuous Phase (CP-Flip-OFDM) enhancement to Flip-OFDM. It ensures phase continuity at transition between two successive copies OFDM blocks, thereby it obviates Cyclic Midfix first block its flipped copy. Simultaneously, less compute-intensive way generate detect ACO-OFDM. Instead creating Hermitian-symmetry transmit Inverse FFT input, is in IM OFDM, zero padding. After IFFT, ramp-up, i.e., multiplication complex-valued exponential, applied before truncating real signal.

Improved N-continuous OFDM for 5G Wireless Communications

N-continuous orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (NC-OFDM) is a promising technique to obtain significant sidelobe suppression for baseband OFDM signals, in future 5G wireless communications. However, the precoder of NC-OFDM usually causes severe interference and high complexity. To reduce the interference and complexity, this paper proposes an improved time-domain N-continuous OFDM (TD-...

Optical Wireless Communications

The use of mobile devices, e.g., laptops, cell phones and PDAs, has become ubiquitous. Users expect to access very high-speed networks from anywhere and be able to communicate with other users, and share common resources such as printers, at high data rates. As a consequence, wireless local area networks (WLANs) have become the subject of intense research. WLANs are subject to more noise and in...

Channel Estimation for Wireless OFDM Communications

1.1 Preliminary Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication techniques have recently received significant research attention because of their ability to maintain effective transmission and highly efficient bandwidth utilization in the presence of various channel impairments, such as severely frequency-selective channel fades caused by long multipath delay spreads and impulsi...
